Partner-Led Activities

Myanmar Agri-food Week 2026 is designed as a distributed, partner-led platform. Rather than being a single centrally organized event, MAW brings together a series of activities led by aligned partners across different parts of Myanmar’s agri-food system.

Partner-Led Activities are at the heart of this approach.

They provide practical access to real operating environments, real constraints, and real opportunities — from markets, farms, processing facilities, laboratories and innovation spaces to development coordination and knowledge-sharing platforms. Learning from these activities will contribute to the shared synthesis at Food Systems Forum 2026 on 16 October, World Food Day.

What is a Partner-Led Activity?

A Partner-Led Activity is an activity co-designed and delivered by a partner organization under the shared MAW framework.

These activities may be led by development partners, UN agencies, embassies, regional institutions, business networks, industry associations, private sector actors, research organizations, civil society platforms, or technical institutions.

Each activity should contribute to MAW’s overall theme:

"From Constraints to Coordination: Building Viable and Resilient Agri-food Systems"

Partner-Led Activities are intended to help stakeholders move beyond discussion alone by creating access to practical learning, exchange, and coordination opportunities.

Access Pathways

Partner-Led Activities should align with one or more of the MAW 2026 Access Pathways below.

1. Market Access & Viability

Activities that help producers, SMEs, buyers, distributors, retailers, institutional purchasers, and market actors better understand market requirements, pricing realities, payment cycles, aggregation, supply consistency, and commercial viability.

2. Quality, Compliance & Risk Navigation

Activities focused on food safety, quality assurance, testing, certification, standards, traceability, contamination risks, compliance pathways, and practical risk management.

3. Operational Resilience & Industry Practice

Activities that provide access to farm, processing, storage, logistics, input, and supply-chain environments, with attention to how actors continue operating under resource, energy, finance, climate, and market constraints.

4. Inputs, Innovation & Regional Linkages

Activities that introduce practical innovations, input solutions, improved seeds, soil health approaches, climate-smart practices, regional technologies, applied research, or cross-border learning relevant to Myanmar’s agri-food system.

5. Systems Coordination & Translation

Activities that help bridge private sector, development, technical, research, and community perspectives, translating field realities into better coordination, programming, investment, and follow-up action.

6. Inclusion & Future Workforce

Cross-cutting activities that strengthen meaningful participation of women, youth, entrepreneurs, emerging professionals, and future leaders across markets, innovation, technical systems, and decision-making spaces.

Possible Activity Formats

Partner-Led Activities may take different forms depending on the partner’s priorities, operational nature and resources.

Possible formats include:

Open houses
Exposure visits
Technical workshops
Demonstrations
Innovation showcases
Roundtables and dialogues
Buyer-supplier exchanges
Facility, farm, market, laboratory, or industry visits
Translation labs for turning evidence to action
Women- or youth-focused enterprise sessions
Regional learning exchanges

What MAW Provides

The MAW platform supports its partners with the overall coherence, positioning, coordination, and shared infrastructure of MAW 2026.

For confirmed Partner-Led Activities, MAW may provide a combination of platform-level support, communications support, digital tools, and activity-level facilitation, depending on the nature of the activity, available resources, and agreed arrangements.

1. Platform Visibility and Program Integration

Confirmed Partner-Led Activities may be included in the official MAW 2026 program structure, website, activity calendar, and selected communications materials.

MAW will support partners by helping position their activities within the broader MAW narrative, Access Pathways, and Food Systems Forum 2026 synthesis process.

2. Communications and Branding Support

MAW will provide a Communications Toolkit to support consistent and professional visibility across Partner-Led Activities. This may include ready-to-use templates and guidance for:

Activity banners
Social media posts
Speaker or session cards
Event backdrops or signage
Basic partner announcement materials
MAW branding and logo-use guidance

Partners are expected to coordinate with the MAW team before publishing public communications using the MAW name, logo, or program identity.

3. Digital Platform Support

MAW 2026 will use a dedicated digital platform to support participant engagement, networking, registration, and activity management.

Through this platform, onboarded MAW participants will be able to create profiles, explore activities, connect with other participants, and engage with the wider MAW ecosystem.

For Partner-Led Activity leads, the platform may support practical activity management functions such as:

Creating or displaying activity information
Viewing participant interest or RSVP lists
Managing participation for limited-seat activities
Selectively approving participants where space is limited
Sharing activity updates, venue details, transport information, or logistical announcements
Supporting participant networking before, during, and after MAW 2026

This digital platform is intended to help reduce coordination burden while improving the participant experience across the Week.

4. Activity-Level Support

Subject to availability of resources and prior confirmation, MAW may provide partial or full support for selected in-person Partner-Led Activities. This support may include eligible activity-related costs such as:

Venue arrangements
Refreshments
Basic logistics
Local coordination needs
Selected visibility or setup materials

Any activity-level financial or logistical support must be discussed and confirmed in advance. Support will depend on resource availability, activity relevance, pathway alignment, feasibility, and overall MAW program priorities.

5. Coordination and Partner Linkage

MAW may support partners through coordination touchpoints, pathway alignment discussions, and linkage with other relevant partners where appropriate and feasible.

This may include helping partners identify complementary organizations, avoid duplication, sequence activities within the MAW calendar, and connect activity insights to the Food Systems Forum 2026 synthesis process.

6. Synthesis into Food Systems Forum 2026

Partner-Led Activities are part of the wider MAW learning arc. MAW will support the integration of key insights, constraints, opportunities, and recommendations from selected activities into the synthesis process leading toward Food Systems Forum 2026.

This helps ensure that practical learning from Partner-Led Activities contributes to broader coordination and follow-up action across Myanmar’s agri-food system.

MAW support is intended to strengthen partner leadership, not replace it. Partner-Led Activities remain co-designed and delivered with clear roles and responsibilities between MAW and the respective lead partner or organizing partners.

What Partners Are Expected to Lead

Partner-Led Activities are designed in accordance with the priorities, operational nature and resources of each partner organization.

Partners leading or co-organizing an activity are expected to take responsibility for shaping and delivering the activity in coordination with the MAW team. This may include defining the activity concept, identifying target participants, confirming speakers or facilitators, preparing technical content, and supporting the practical delivery of the session.

Partners are also expected to ensure that their activity is aligned with at least one MAW Access Pathway and contributes to the overall theme of MAW 2026:

Specific roles, responsibilities, support arrangements, and activity details will be discussed during the co-design process and confirmed before the activity is included in the official MAW 2026 program.

Co-design and Confirmation Process

Partner-Led Activities will be developed through a light co-design process with the MAW team. The process is designed to help partners shape activities that are practical, feasible, and aligned with the wider MAW platform.

1. Partner Engagement and Consultation

Interested organizations submit the Partner Engagement Form, after which the MAW team will follow up to understand their interests, strengths, and possible activity direction.

2. Activity Co-design

The partner and MAW team jointly refine the activity concept, pathway alignment, format, expected participants, responsibilities, support needs, and timing.

3. Activity Confirmation

Once the activity details are agreed, MAW and the partner confirm the activity before it is included in the official MAW program, website, calendar, or public communications.

4. Delivery and Synthesis

The activity is delivered as part of MAW 2026. Key insights, learning, and practical recommendations from selected activities may contribute to the synthesis process at Food Systems Forum 2026.

Organizations interested in leading, co-organizing, hosting, supporting, or contributing to a Partner-Led Activity are invited to complete the Partner Engagement Form.

After receiving your submission, the MAW team will follow up to explore possible alignment, activity formats, support needs, and next steps.
